I am still getting a hang of these blogs…. But On top of visiting ancient sites, my classmates and I will be visiting complexes for both the 2004 and 2006 olympics!

Almost there…
December 4, 2009So exactly one month from today I will be in Athens, Greece beginning my “Greek and Roman Sports and Games” trip.
The description of the trip reads:
Students will travel to Greece and Italy in the footsteps of the athletes who laid the foundation for modern sports and the Olympic Games. They will consider the issues of this course of study in several ways. The course topics are as follows:
- Greek origins of athletics and Olympic Games
- Athletes as participants
- Warrior athletes
- Events of the games
- Modern Olympics
- Values and ideals of the Olympics
- Roman games and spectacles
- Development of athletics for females
- Comparison of modern and ancient athletics and games
- Participation in Olympic events
